Portfolio
Watch checks the federal wildfire incident feed (NIFC/WFIGS) every 15 minutes and compares each listed fire’s size and distance to your places. It cannot see a fire that has not been reported to that feed, structure fires, or anything else. Not an emergency service — follow local authorities.
Map
Your places and the listed wildfires near them — mapped perimeters where one exists, reported points otherwise. Tap a fire to read its data. Same feed and rules as the portfolio.

Alert me when a fire is close
Portfolio default — applies to every place unless you override it. Changes save automatically.
Fires whose size is not yet reported always count. A fire whose perimeter grows to reach your alert distance always alerts, whatever its size.
What counts as a threat
Status is decided by fire size and distance together, not distance alone: a fire 200 yards from a place is a threat at any size; a 15,000-acre fire is a threat at 1 mi, worth watching at 10 mi, and clear at 30 mi. Distance is measured to the mapped perimeter edge when there is one, otherwise to the reported point. Sources, rules and limits.
A place shows the highest status across every fire near it, and names the fire that drives it. Statuses recompute every 15 minutes; a change up or down is what triggers a status alert.
Who gets alerted
Email recipients for every alert from this portfolio.
Text-message alerts
Get a text when a fire's perimeter is measured inside your alert distance from one of your places, or when a new fire of 10+ acres starts inside it. Available on Pro and Portfolio plans.
Per-place overrides
Tighter or looser thresholds for individual places.
